  1. I make bengan bhartha quite often, but I never thought of tossing some chickpeas into the dish. I usually wind up making a second dish instead. I am definitely going to try this.

  2. I made this dish last night and it was delicious! I couldn’t find the roasted tomatoes though so I just used plain canned tomatoes. It was great, and we don’t even like eggplant.

    I did drizzle a bit of olive oil onto the garlic before roasting, I don’t know if it makes any difference but that’s how I always do it.

    What brand makes the fire-roasted tomatoes? I’ve never seen them before, especially not with any Hashgacha. Please inform me.

      Thanks for your question! In my area, Hunt’s is the brand name that makes fire-roasted tomatoes with an O-U. The Shoppers and Safeway store brands also have a hashgachah.
